Cuba - Havana |
Amazing culture, music and people.
I spend in Havana 3 weeks. Walking around the city, going out, meeting locals and tourists. Dancing salsa and kitesurfing.
Definitely I had a great time, although like everywhere one needs to be careful always.
Cuba is very particular country. As you know its communism system there. Its also police country. Police and army its controling everything and everyone. Thats why the country its save, well relatively save.
They have few interesting laws, for instance: you are not allowed to walk with Cuban girl the streets - if you do so the Police can take her to the jail for a night - she is potential prostitute - or jinetera, teasing a gringo.
All people are relatively poor, but they know how to enjoy the life and the party. The ron is great. Salsa and reageton you can hear everywhere even in the bus. A propos the communication. If you want to take a taxi - you need to ask first where is going!! If its on the way can take you. The buses are so fully packed - its hard to get in.
But I strongly recommend you to visit thic island - you can meet so many interesting people in there and a culture which influence all the World around. It was not much changes during last 50 years - you can recognize seeing cars on the streets, but I suppose that changes are right behind the corner.
